tend to be very complex computationally and therefore not very sensible to be implemented in Python. yeah, I forgot the BaseView, but whatever, I agree whit you. And this is just the beginning, I'm still in the research and testing phase. My final goal is to write a procedural tree generator, so maybe combine L-System to improve some performance, I'll also try to write an Octree. Thank you for your suggestion and reply. Cheers! Yes @Mats , it will 'scan' the material and convert to a description, then convert back to material. I want to achieve material conversion between different renderers, which may seem like a very labor-intensive task, but the good news is that I have taken the first step in implementing it. And thanks for your like for boghma. Cheers~ DunHou

I just simply add a plugin to C4D which creates a user menu into C4D all in one pack without adding any script into the user C4D preferences folder ( library / scripts ) . Menu and script embedded solution all in one plugin inside.

The extension is different. So the file name too. [image: 1731073048659-06886d91-7c0a-42a3-ba9f-0304f23c8315-image.png]

You can compile your plugins that have been signed with the Xcode debug license in debug or release mode and run them as much as you want. You can even do this on a different machine, when you are okay with a warning here and there. When you want to get up to speed with the C++ SDK again, I would recommend having a look at Getting Started: First Steps, it guides you through all the steps necessary to compile the SDK on Windows and MacOS, and do simple things like adding your first plugin and debugging code.

@ferdinand I'm showing an example with a curved surface composed of 8 zones. Each zone is the union of several polygons with normals oriented in the same direction (represented by an arrow). I think C4D should be able to identify this type of tiling and colorize these areas to highlight them. Depending on the case, this tiling could be important, but most often, creators assemble the faces logically. A window could then offer the option to select each tiling, in order to invert the normals with a single click. A plugin could also do this kind of work, which would save creators time. Thank you @ferdinand! I'm using Google Chrome V.121 on Windows 11 Pro. I haven't changed anything in my browser (i.e. extensions, scripts, etc) since the forum was updated. I'll report back on my findings next time this happens Thanks!
