Cinema4D S22 Debian user experiences?
-
Hi,
This question is somewhat off topic in this forum, but I hope asking it is okay anyways. If not, feel free to delete this thread.
I have seen that there is now a Debian (Ubuntu) installer for Cinema 4D S22. My questions would be:
- Is the installation still based on Wine or is it a native Debian app?
- If the answer is Wine:
a. Can someone share their experiences on the performance hit Wine causes?
b. Are there other pitfalls, things that are not supported in that environment?
Maybe I wasn't looking in the right places, but I could not find any infos on maxon.net.
Cheers,

Hello
I will try at MX LinuxBefore I used Cent OS for R21 and had problems with project_tool.
Got working sdk for r21 at CentOS 7.7-1908 and gcc-7 toolset, by using project_tool_r20

Hi @zipit , thanks for reaching out us.
With regard to your questions:
- the Ubuntu installer is a native Linux application
- being only command line render no UI is delivered with the CLR app, and not being WINE based, no comparisons can be made.
