      Hi,

are there any informations about the new RLM?
What has to be done to support customers with a RLM serial?

      Any infos are welcome. Thanks.

Hi Klaus, thanks for writing us.

With reference to your question, RLM support in Cinema 4D SDK is currently limited to the GeGetSerialInfo() which simply returns the serial code regardless of whatever RLM or MAXON licensing scheme is used.

Although we already have a list of functions/interfaces to expose, what might be useful for your customers as well?

@KATACHI: RLM is a standard floating licensing system used by many software vendors to provide their customers with a flexible license system in multi-seats environment where you have a pool of licenses and a set of hosts/users which could dynamically pick and release them. My customer wants to buy 2 license seats, but his C4D serial is a single one starting with 1, so at the moment I can't do anything else than selling him 1 license.

Does it mean in the end that RLM users can run several C4D installations at the same time using the same 11 C4D digits? In other words: A customer with 100 RLM seats runs 100 clients that react like a single installation returning the 1... digits?

This behavior would not be very nice.

Hi Klaus, I second your concerns but currently the RLM licensing environment is used internally and no means were provided via the SDK at this iteration.

We look forward to provide some additional functionalities in the next revisions.

              Best, Riccardo.
