What must I do to update one tag I did for version 7 and had a dialog to make the dialog show in the new AM?
Easy? Hard? How?
Thank you in advance.Rui Batista

Has coffee itself changed since version 6? I don't think it has.
I get the impression that Coffee is not going to be updated.
I think the idea is that if you are writing a complex plugin then you should do it with the C++ API (which is pretty extensive and well written, BTW). If you are writing something fairly simple then you are expected to use Espresso instead.
I've not had a chance to have anything more than a very cursory look at Espresso, so I don't know how useful it really is in this regard at the moment.
Is there anything that Espresso can do that Coffee can't (hopefully yes), and vice versa (hopefully no)?

XPresso can do lots of things, but is designed as an animation tool, not really something for plugins, COFFEE should be for adding simple editor extensions and some animation control, C++ is for "real" plugins, shaders etc. you can do shaders in COFFEE, but you will get a speed penalty for any COFFEE based plugin. COFFEE is in need of some work, and can do things XPresso can't (such as modify objects data). I'm sure COFFEE won't be forgotten, an easy to use scripting system is important, COFFEE was part way to this. Although it didn't change for XL7, there wouldn't be much extra it could have been given, however, for R8 there is so much new work in the SDK that makes COFFEE really show up as not updated, I'm sure MAXON will deal with this.

I really hope so. I'm not willing to invest on a compiler. I love to program but I'm not a true programmer. That's why I want to be still be able to develop my tools without the need of a compiler.
I'm eagerly waiting for a COFFEE updateRui Batista
