          afaik you have to insert a shader into a BaseMaterial (not a BaseChannel) by setting the link in the materials container and using InserShader to insert it.

            I was hoping to allocate basechannel and set the shader.
            So BaseChannel::Alloc is cannot be used by plugin developers.. 🙂
