Searching the Content Browser

Hi,
my Plug-in includes a couple of projects that are organized in the C4D Content Browser.
Now I like to start a search from within the Plug-in to just show some of this Content. The user should be able to control the search via search terms. For this I basically just need access to the default Content Browser search functionality (including the options to search for names, comments etc.), but I haven't found any API implementation of it yet. Am I missing something?
