I didn't found any entries in the SDK documentation, but is there a way to set or define a object type from a tag to mimic an other tag?

        Hi,
to be honest, I wasn't sure about the intent of your question, so I discussed it with Sebastian.
Unfortunately we came up with a negative result 😢
It is not possible to change the type of a tag.
If we got your question wrong, please let us know.
As this question actually has very little to do with BaseContainers, I'd like to change the topic heading, if that's ok for you.

I want to create a Plugin which is able to create a instance of an existing tag.

to be honest, saved selektion would fix the issue to but i like the idea that i don't need to add new tags to the selection.

Can you please try to describe, what you are actually trying to achieve?
You can get a copy of existing tags via GetClone() but I'm not sure this is actually what you are heading for.
