      Hy there,

I am using IlluminateSurfacePoint within a Shader to check if a certain surface point will get light from a specific light.

      From the Docs:

This function is used for custom illumination models. You can calculate the intensity of incoming light for a given light and surface point.

But the function seems not to work for area lights. For area lights, the method just always returns true. There is nothing mentioned in the SDK, that this function is not for area lights.

      Is this correct behavior?

Do I always need to use CalcArea to test for light, if there are area lights in the scene?

      Thank you,
      maxx
