I'm making a deformer that deforms a spline but I only want it to effect the edit points. Right now it's deforming the points based on the interpolation of the spline. So how can I access the original edit points of the spline to only modify those?- Carter

Howdy,
You may need to be a bit more specific, or show an example.

What I'm trying to do is pretty much make a cluster deformer but for splines. You create a point selection tag on the spline you want deformed, you drag this into the deformer along with the null you want to control them and voila. The current problem is that the point selection tag is for the editable spline, not the interpolated spline that cinema creates.
What I think I'll try doing real fast is changing it from a deformer to a tag and seeing if that gives me what I want. And yes I know you can control a splines points with xpresso or a spline ik tag but I want a simpler, cleaner solution. I'll post it for free when I'm done if anyone wants it.

I haven't a clue if it could help but I have a PointCluster Tag
in Python Open source you can check at my site:www.tcastudios.com -> xfiles "pCLUSTER"

That is sooooo close to what I want. The only thing that mine does which yours doesn't is to allow you to be able to adjust a falloff value so you can create a "smooth selection." What I'm using this for is to be able to animate wires. Thanks for the feedback though.

I see, but that should only be adding a distance check (via a rangemap function) in the read part loop.
Cheers
