      Hi,

I just would like to check back if there are any plans on providing a solution in one of the future updates of Cinema 4D that will allow providing users with a demo version when using the official serial system?

I get more and more customers that want to use my plugin demos but that are running license servers and it's kind of pissing me off that I cannot provide them with a demo (or I would need to create an extra demo version with custom serialisation for that which I simply don't have the time nor the mood to).

Any news on this (long time issue)?

It would be good to know cause then I would need to take the time to plug in a custom serialisation somehow...well would be forced to. I assume I can simply call my own WriteRegInfo/ReadRegInfo when the usual serial system is called instead? Maybe even inside of my serial class? Man, it is so tiring that this is still necessary...sigh. Can you feel my pain?

It has been discussed but unfortunatly I can't tell you when or if there will be a demo of the license server avaible.

I will see if this can get a higher priority.

        cheers,
        Matthias

first of all thanks Matthias for the quick response.

What I actually meant however is that the license server would allow plugins to use the demo expiring time (regdate, curdate) provided in SNHookClass which is currently not possible because regdate is invalid in a LS environement (at least it was the last time we talked about it and you said you forward it as a bug report, so I am not sure if it was fixed...because I have no access to a LS 😉 ).

A license server demo would be the alternative when the above will not work so one can do tests with a custom serialisation at least (and when using the SNHookClass of course too).

          thanks
          Samir
