I am not sure if you are aware of this place. But I stumbled upon this forum site while searching for my own plugin title on Google.LINK REMOVED FOR SECURITY
These guys are outright admitting that they are cracking our plugins and giving them away.
Is there anything we can do about this? I saw many of your plugins on this site aswell. Some of the most popular plugins are on this site.Anyone think there is anything we can do?

Most likely not very much to do.
They will most likely find a new home as soon as they need…….I found the place a couple of weeks ago and did some research
who the main owner was….. then just became tired……Cheers

I answered your post over at C4D Cafe, so I won't repeat here. Is there anything we can do? Not much. Just laugh at these sad f**kwits and get on with life, IMO.
BTW, I had a look at your post in the offending forum. Most likely you won't get any response, or you'll get a load of abuse (I've seen Stefan from Vray for C4D get a lot of abuse there over his efforts to make Vray safe from cracking). These people really object to the idea of paying for their plugins, and you can bet that they mostly don't own legit copies of Cinema, either.
Thing that makes me laugh is the complaints the actual crackers get! There only seem to be two or so of them, the rest are just leeches, and they really moan when the 64-bit or Mac versions aren't cracked.

Agreed. There is probably nothing you can do about it.
We have a lot of problems with warez, too. Its easy to get it down from rapidshare or megaupload (just email the guys), but impossible to stop the spread.
I believe it is impossible to make crack proof sowftware, btw. But there are some ways to find out who does it. Like uniquely signing every executable downloaded, etc, etc. If a cracked version pops up you got the guy. But what then? Not actually worth the trouble....

I strongly suggest that you remove that link from your posting, emberintherain.
Here as well as on the C4D Café.Both forums are indexed by Google, and by posting the link you only increase the probability of people finding, downloading and using the cracked builds.

Too bad, so sad.
Yeah, they actually think they have v2.0 of my InterPoser Pro plugin. I was considering it, made just Windows builds, and sent it to one person. Not obvious who set it free for cracking... They can b**ch and moan all they like. They can kiss my arse.

The worse thing about these guys: You developers spend a lot of knowledge and tiem to help us users by developing good plugins. Many of you offer trial-versions so everyone can see if the plugin is worth its money to him before they buy. In the end the only way this can end up is that you start ebedding a lot of security-code to protect your ideas what makes plugins more heavy and less handy for us users or even worse stop developing as it is not worth the time you have to spend.
Perhaps one way out of this mess might be to come together and organize a site, where you may download the plugins for free. But every user has to sign in as member and has to save a yearly fee for having access. This would be interesting for honest users, as they might get a lot of great plugins for very low cost and sensless for those that only search for a special peice oft software to give it away to others for free. The yearly fee would be more than the single plugin-cost. But it would be cheap for those tha use a lot of plugins. All developers could join this site and would be payed an amount of the charges per year depending on the number of downloads their plugins achieved. Just an idea but perhaps it might improve something about this mess. Please go on with all your good work,
