      I some clue to how to over-ride the color-picker that comes up when one creates a material with the one that I have created in a plugin. My thoughts are, as long as the plugin is active, the color-picker from the plugin should be the only one to affects color/brightness channels of any material in the material manager.

      Please, just give me a nudge in the right direction.
