      Read the sparse description of Mbase and Mmaterial would like to know the difference between the two and when would one use one over the other...

        Mbase and Mmaterial are just IDs belonging to the BaseMaterial and Material classes. BaseMaterial is the base class of all materials (Cinema standard, plugin materials etc.). The Material class represents the Cinema standard material. It really depends on what you are trying to achieve if you have to make use of BaseMaterial or Material.
