It is my understanding the Mathias is away, still the License Server
what abouts is starting the hit the fan, so to speak.Simply put, I'm not able to deliver orders, simply because there is nowhere to get info about how the handle, in my case, the "SysGetUserInfo(6)".
It does return the"Serial Server serial".
But what is that?
Is it the Server itself? So all connected Clients get the same return-number.
Or is it the return of -each- MultiServerLicense? (Is it a thing called that?)My latest customers are sending me this kind of info:
CINEMA 4D R11 [11-0-1000] <<1010000xxx6>> SingleCINEMA 4D R11 [11-0-1000] <<1010000xxx7>> Multi (x3) via server.
How shall we interpret that?
What does the Single return? ("SysGetUserInfo(1)"?.
And what does the Multi (x3) via server return? "SysGetUserInfo(6)"?Does the "(x3)" mean that that specific bundle can be installed on 3 machines running at the same time?
Sorry for the comotion..I'll try to get his over the phone tomorrow Monday as well.
Cheers

Looking at the numbers I got , they look as the "Client" numbers
(the ones you type in on a workstation normally)
TheDevKitchen shows another type of number ("MultiLicense Structure")
starting with "2" and you can see how many license that can run.Is that the number that returns a valid "SysGetUserInfo(6)"?
And, again sorry for repeating, can there be more than one
MultiLicense on a server?Cheers

I've coded two possible(?) scenarios.
1. The Multilicense is "global". Any Client connected to the LicenseServer
looks for that ("SysGetUserInfo(6)"?) and loads my stuff. Each Client only
needs a single license from me.2. The license server have 4 valid licenses installed. So each client¨can work with 4 different licenses, depending on what license is free for the moment.
Each Client needs (the same) 4 licenses from me.Cheers

Use the multi user license obtained with SysGetUserInfo(6) to generate your plugin serial. If there exists no multi user license (SysGetUserInfo(6) returns an empty string) use the client license obtained with SysGetUserInfo(0).

Thanks Matthias!
So in "reality" a customer supplies a Multi User license where we can see
how many licenses they have. That is good and fair. Now let's say the customer adds a few more seats of Cinema later on.
Do they get another (second) MultiUserLicense (2 MultiUserLicenses
running at the same time on the license server)
Or, do they get a new one, replacing the first?I'm really sorry to go on and on:) but I just want to be crystal clear towards my customers.
Thanks

OK, asking my customers for their MultiLicense, the first of them
sent me this:[11-0-200000xxx]
(The x's are digits).
To me it doesn't look anything like the DevKitchen example.
It has more digits and I can't see how many licenses it represents.
Is that a temporal number or anything else?Cheers
