I'd be willing to pay good money for such a suite of types to make programming the AM easier and better.

But can you please describe exacter what do you needed?
I was truing to do such things for some time, and could made only simple stuff that is now part of DiTools.Not sure but may be this is a good place for some kind of Open-Source library for C4D???
So any developer can contribute and use it.This could be also applied to Examples too.
A Open collection of examples and extensions for C4D.
May be even hosted on SourceForge.net...
