      Is it possible to find the active camera in coffee or xpresso ?

      i'd like to have a coffee or xpresso tag to set the visible_in_render button
      according to the active camera.

      -> a lot of possibilities !!!

      if for example i have 5 cameras in an architectural scene

      i could have 5 lightning sets which automatically switch on/off when i change the camera!

      the same for compostiting backgrounds (like sky on a plane) or object groups which are not visible and mustnt slow down the renderer.

      etc

        Hello zeorge,
        did you plan something like a 180 degree clipping? Just because calculation of a viewport means clipping objects in general,
        (http://cgg.unibe.ch/teaching/lectures/ws0607/cg/06)
        especially as the width of your cameras viewport might differ a lot cinema! So I think it will be quite a lot of calculation to be done then.
        Personally I'd think, that cinema already does something like this by default, becuase its rendering-machine is already awesome quick.

          There is one caveat to frustrum culling as a means to remove objects from rendering - reflections and GI. Objects MUST remain valid if they are not excluded from reflections or participate in GI solutions. Consider a human figure behind the camera looking into a mirror in view of the camera. How would the figure be reflected if culled from the scene graph during render?

          It would probably be possible to use XPresso to control visibility and other attributes based on the active camera. But I'm not the XPresso expert - Bjorn is (Srek at CGTalk).
