      Hey,

iam almost finished with a tool that simulates a tool from animation master for rotation and moving in one tool, now i recorded a screencapture so i can explain better, tool.mov shows this tool in action when rotating, 1st time over is just mouse as a target, but the second time when it goes over it doesnt flip but kinda rolls over, now i have the target part solved now i would like to constraint that flip somehow and i need some ideas how.

      tnx for any info!

      cheers

Does it happen if you are in a flat sideview as well?
I guess in perspective view the second start rotation is not the same as the first, and that might be the result you see.

nop its not the view, it flips in any view if the up vector isnt pointing into your direction (that other handle in the video acts like an up vector), i have the same thing if u made a cube and a target tag to a null then moving that target over the cube like shown in tha recording

hm. doing it with regular objects, Cube, a Null for target and a sphere for Upvector I get something similar as you show if I dont switch of the X axis of the Move Tool. With the x axis turned off for the move tool every turn looks identical. So I still suspect that -part- of it at least is that you don't come back to the same rotation value the second time.

              in cinema is plugins/c4dsdk/liquid tool
i know i should rename and all but i do that at the end 🙂

oh, hm no xdl anywhere heh, and iam looking for concept of how to solve this not the c++ code solution, thats why this is in general forum 🙂

i read trough once again and i see i should state that that recording when going over second time the tool is in another mode then the first time, thats why the result is diferent 🙂
