Are there any plans to make it possible to build plugins using Apple's Xcode?

Will this happen before the switch to Intel CPUs?

I take an educated guess that Maxon will be forced to change to XCode soon. This will mean a major change for the Mac development environment, and I hope that Maxon will publish their plans on how to tackle that transition in the near future.

CW 10 was just recently released in a free version, maybe this is ok to compile plugins, too?

Although there is a free version of CW10, I wouldn't doubt that it has restrictions (non-commercial use). So you more than likely couldn't legally use it to create commercial plugins.

I just hope that Maxon makes the transition from CodeWarrior to XCode as smooth as possible. Only know CW for Mac development, so this will be another schooling session. 🙂

So, I can use CW10 to program Cinema4D plug-ins? Without restrictions? (I only wish they had PayPal payments).
If that is possible, I may have found my personal Christmas gift 🙂
