      Hi,

      I was wondering with the news of Apple's move to Intel if anyone knows if and when we will be able to use xcode as an IDE for developing c4d plugins on the mac.

            The Windows versions are really targeted for Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, but there are ways to work with more recent compilers like VC++ 2003 Net. The 64-bit SDK is only supporting Windows for reasons having to do with the way Apple decided to implement 64-bit processes, but only 32-bit GUI.

            That said, it'll be a year before Apple publicly releases the new Intel Macs. I know that developers can get hold of these with development environments already, but there is little use for Maxon to provide support for a platform which nobody (public) has and a version of Cinema 4D that doesn't exist. Right?

            It is assured that when Maxon makes the move to MacTel, we'll be provided with the proper SDK and compiler/IDE information to migrate and create plugins thereby.

            Things are going to be moving fast over the next year or two, so it's going to get confusing as 32-bit is migrated to 64-bit and PPC to Intel.
