unable to use sdk plugins...

I have version 8.0 and I applied to 8.2 update from the website...
When I start up C4D, the plugins folder for SDK is not present. I tried reinstalling everything to no avail. The folder is physically there but C4D does not detect it.
What am I doing wrong? Its driving me nuts!
