Does anybody have any ideas on purchasing Visual C++ Prof. anwhere other than on ebay?  I have the standard version without the optimized compiler.

Ouch!, looked at a couple of sites from Price Grabber and the only sites that have this available charge over $600.  Too steep for me, I looked at ebay and there was a seller with a very good rating selling a copy for $145 which seems more reasonable but I guess more risky.  Supply versus Demand.  If anybody want to put their 2 cents in....
Maybe if I write a good plug that would benefit from the optimization, I ask somebody on the forum for help.

If you're looking for the optimizing compiler - just like me - then download the *free* MS optimizing compiler from MS (see thread below)

            Kabe,
Thanks, I read your posts.  I have Visual Studio.net 2003, the problem is it does not play well with the SDK so I have been using the VC++6 standard version that I bought awhile ago.  I would rather work in an IDE enviroment.  I will probably get the VC++6 Pro of off ebay.
