      Hi
I like how de default function for bones deforms my geometry, but I'd like to have all bones restricted to a weight map.
How can I find weights for a vertex from the function of bones?
      Thanks

There's no way to find out the combined effect of bones and vertex maps. You can get the vertex weights from the vertex weight tag, then you'd have to approximate or reverse engineer the bones, since the algorithm isn't public.
