I was wondering how many C4D plugin and script writers here are also on twitter. Like this tweet if your one of them so we can get an indication of the numbers (as well as a nice list of who to follow).

I've just checked your tweet today and saw only 6 likes. I think there're more plugin/script writers than this. Maybe your thread was not visible enough or people don't use Twitter that often. Linkedin group maybe? Or a poll on this forum.

My guess is that there are not that many people here that use twitter. So I am not going to worry about tweeting about c4d dev work too much. Instead I am starting up a Club over at C4D Cafe
There is not much info there at the moment. I will add more information and videos over the coming months.
One of the goals is to try to connect the developers to the users. Let the users know who the developers are and see if they can add new ideas for their plugins. One of the issues though is that you can't advertise your work on the forum. So you can't just log on and advertise your product and leave. Its more about helping people than showcasing plugins. Will see how it goes.

Hi,
we appreciate a lot any initiative to connect plugin developers and increase chances to share development experience.
At the same time, we consider the PluginCafé forums as MAXON's official place for development-related topics. In order to avoid cross-posting or knowledge-base duplication, we'll provide our support on this channel, only. We hope you don't mind. -

Hi Andreas,
Yes I fully understand. I also make this clear over on C4D Cafe. Its not a place for asking development questions relating to the SDK.
This is the description I wrote on the club itself
"Talk about plugin development. C++, Python, OSX and Windows. If your developing a plugin and want to share, or talk about issues related to plugin development then this is the place. But if you require SDK support about C4D specific functions then please use the official MAXON PluginCafe instead. http://www.plugincafe.com"
If in future MAXON upgrades this plugincafe to be a more modern forum with additional sections then I would happily do everything here. But as it is now the forum is very limited and it is primarily devoted to providing support to developers regarding the SDK itself. So talking about integrating with other platforms, other apis, sales, marketing, affiliate programs, customer support, website development, art creation, banners, advertising help etc... is still beyond the scope of the plugincafe.
Cheers,

Hi Kent,
you are absolutely right, thanks for adding the pointer to Plugin Café. We are aware of the age of our forum (and its peculiarities we love so much...) and are already looking into alternatives. And we'll consider your suggestions for alternative corners. So long I hope all of you find a cosy place over at C4D Cafe.
