IsCommandChecked() in R9.0?

Howdy,The SDK function IsCommandChecked() must have been available internally since the beginning, but it hasn't been available for plugin developers until R9.5. Is there a way to access this in R9.0? I'd like to keep my plugin backward compatible to at least R9.1 if possible.
