ID_USERDATA:29; not possible !?

I just hit this..
When adding

var thing = op#ID_USERDATA:1;

and up, I get the error message:

"Wrong PCODE fffffe89"

when I come to:

var notherthing = op#ID_USERDATA:29;

Is there a limit how many USERDATA inputs you can use!
Or is this a bug with a workaround?
