Container vanishes [SOLVED]

I have created an object that generates a spline.
Inside the code, I create a new container (with a unique ID that I got from plugincafe). Inside that container I placed some data that I wanted to keep.
It all works fine as long as I keep my object in its original state.
I inserted this new container inside my object container.
But, as soon as I press "C" and turn my object into a real spline, the container that I created and inserted inside the object container, simply disappears.
How can I store some data inside my object in a way that it survives the process of becoming editable? -

Ok, I found out what I was doing wrong. I was only storing the new container in the plugin object.
Since that object disappears and is replaced by the calculated spline when the C key is pressed, I also need to store the new container in the spline object that is returned from the plugin object.
Too damn obvious!!!(the solution presented to me while I was driving going to do some shopping... damn!! can't get programming out of my head )
