The sdk says, that only some functions are save for bitmaps with less than 24 bit. But if I try to load a 1-Bit BMP, in my case yellow and black colour table, then the image is black/white, even GetLine, which is said to be save for less than 24 bit, fails and returns b/w. -

That´s probably because of the nature of a 1-bit image file. It actually only knows two color values, black and white.

Not necessarily, I took a close - binary - look at the bitmap file, the image data is coded with 1 Bit, and there is also a color table in the file with two entries, 4 bytes each, one with black, one with kind of yellow....so the information is there, and all other programs also open the image in black/yellow, except cinema.

How is the yellow expressed? Can you show an example?
"Not necessarily"
that´s the right sentence. But it´s still the nature of a bitmap (4 bytes each...of course, for 1 bit is 8 bytes ;). If there are exceptions, the best you can do is asking for support of such files. Email MAXON. -

I'm afraid it seems BaseBitmap doesn't support embedded color tables for 1 bpp images. (I'm not sure if it supports any color tables.)
