Is there any way to retrieve/create NGons on C.O.F.F.E.E. ? The polygon type seems to be a four-float structure only, suitable for representing only quads and tris.Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi,
Sadly there is no N-Gon support in Coffee(maybe in the next upgrade:)) of course you can index the quads and tri's and send a melt command and delete the excess points yourself.
GoodLuck!

Man did I start using the C.O.F.F.E.E. SDK at the wrong time!!!!
It seems like C.O.F.F.E.E. isn't up to date at all.

Well, I figured out how to create my own n-gons from C.O.F.F.E.E, so I can do imports. Now if I could figure an easy way to read the ngons from an object within C.O.F.F.E.E. . . .

The fastest way is propably to export the n-gons Ascii Data from the structure manager to your start-up path and read the file, then just check if the 'polygon' has more then 4 points and retrieve the point index.
How elegant is that!

Funny you should mention that--I had the same idea. The only issue is that this would require the user to name the ASCII file and give the name to the COFFEE plugin. It'll work, I was hoping for something that didn't need user intervention.
Thanks for the input--I think I'm going to go with your suggestion for now. Does anyone know if CallCommand() can be augmented to avoid the file prompt in Structure Manager's ASCII export?
(P.S. I'm using COFFEE because I want the cross-platform support . . . I can go to C++ but then it's a hassle to support both PCs and Macs.)
Thanks for the replies!
