      User Information:
      Cinema 4D Version:   9.1
      Platform:   Windows  ;
      Language(s) :   C.O.F.F.E.E  ;  C++  ;

      ---------
      I followed the SDK instructions when I got my C4D R9 and created my plugin in the SDK folder, using the SDK settings ... and it was great, I worked for 3 weeks and got my plugin working ... it only had some finishing touches left before i could relase it.
      Then i saw the R9.1 free update, so i imediately updated my C4D. Then i went back to see how my plugin would work with it and alas ... my work was gone ...
      The new R9.1 update erases all the folders and their contents including the SDK folders in order to install the new copy of C4D ... so really it is not an update on a file by file basis, it just nukes everything and puts in new files. And so, all my work went up in smoke.
      I am furious of course ... for I have never seen anyone do an update like that ... heck i can't even find my work in the garbage bin .... Anyways, for all those developers out there ... backup your work before installing the new R9.1 update.

      Thanks.

        Sorry to hear that, and thanks for the warning. I'll forward it as a bug report.

          Your work might not be lost, have you tried a file recovery tool. I know it doesn't help, but you should always keep a safe backup of work, I learnt that the hard way once I now its a daily ritual (or hourly on very important stuff). Hope you get your work back!
